On Sunday, August 26, 2012, St. Vincent Home for Children will present our 21st Annual Kookin’ for Kids at the Chase Park Plaza, to raise money for at-risk children. Kookin’ for Kids is a spectacular evening of food, entertainment, and celebrities. Celebrities will be serving samplings of signature dishes from 25-30 restaurants.
Kookin’ for Kids is not only a fun way to help at-risk children, but also a great venue for community leaders and businesses to receive great exposure and recognition for their sponsorship. The majority of our celebrities are members of the St. Louis media. This year’s list has not been confirmed as of today, but we are anticipating that most will be returning for the event. Typically, Kookin’ for Kids attracts 400 to 500 people and raises close to $100,000 to help provide desperately needed educational and treatment services for children, many of whom have suffered abuse and neglect.
Founded in 1850, St. Vincent Home for Children has adapted to meet the ever-changing needs of the children of St. Louis. Today, St. Vincent Home provides a safe, loving and therapeutic environment for at-risk children with severe emotional needs. We offer a continuum of educational and therapeutic services vital to the future success of the children and youth who come to us to learn new skills and heal their past traumas in order to become productive, contributing members of society.
